Fresha, are ya ready?

Hey Hey you cute face!
You probably all excited, full of ideas and expectations, also wondering what next year is going to be like. A bit lost, you don't know what to expect and how to behave. Nodding while reading this?

I know. A bit more than a year ago I was that lost and confused fresher. I was trying to find out what the Uni life is going to be like, what the freshers' week is all about and lots of other answers to weird questions. I didn't find proper full answers. I guess Uni life is such a unique and incredible experience it's almost impossible to explain it to someone else. Still I wanted to share some ideas about the freshers' week with all the new students, so here we go fresha read this and have fun!
I'm a foreigner, I came to Uni not knowing what the hell freshers' week is. My one and only guide into UK's student life was Rosie and her amazing post about the life being a student. I love how she throws those simple rules at you and leaves the rest of the adventure for you to create. It's amazing, it's magic. Read it!

Freshers' Week is probably going to be a one hell crazy mixture of million new people, flayers, free food and lots of parties. Be ready, be prepared. It's the best week of your life you will never remember, but you will never forget. Use every chance and every single opportunity, because if there is time in your life when you have to follow simple 'live as if there were no tomorrow rule', it's now.

I remember checking Youtube and Google for videos and pictures, however there is nothing more informative and than GUST videos from FW2012 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Watching all this videos I just can't stay quite and I wish I've seen something like that last year before discovering all this fun life myself!

Freshers' week is crazy, fun and very chaotic. There is no clear rules and guides. Take it easy! Chat with new people, because it'll never be as easy as during FW. Be simple. Be fun. Be yourself.

September highlights

September is always a change. A change in weather, activities and lifestyle. It's that magic time when being busy is still fun and exciting, every new person you meet and every event you attend seems to be an amazing opportunity and smile just sticks to your face. I am always looking forward to it. Bringing some change to my blog I decided to prepare this wee 'thoughts and plans' post instead of the usual one.

A couple of days ago we celebrated one year anniversary of our life in Scotland. It's been really exciting to look back at everything that happened to the three of us throughout the year. Facing all the changes and challenges I still believe it was an absolutely enjoyable and adventurous year. And I believe the second one is going to be even better, especially now as we all are more experienced and mature. Being a lucky duck I've got an amazing chance to be a Freshers' Helper. Recalling memories from the last year I though I can write a wee post about Freshers just before I get caught in all that crazy helper's routine. You better not miss it!

Another thing I am really excited about is the flat life with my crazy girl Silvija. I absolutely adore our friendship and the way we understand each other. Little fights and movie nights, cooking together and cooking for each other. We had the number of great nights in our flat during summertime and so much more are still in our plans. In the meantime Silvija is preparing a wee guest post. You can probably guess it is about food and fun, well what else could it be about? :D
Talking about food I feel that I am going to write about it more and more often. Cold season just makes me think about comfort food all the time and even though I tend to improvise in the kitchen nowadays I've got some recipes I really want to try out. Almond Milk Pancakes for some cozy mornings and White Bean + Chicken Enchilada Stuffed Peppers. Both sound like experiments, as I've never tried almond milk and never cooked stuffed peppers!

I also keep exploring this incredible country and Glasgow city. On one of our fun dates me and Conor visited an incredible place in Glasgow. I will share my best discoveries on the blog, promise.
Even when it's just shoes. I keep dreaming about that pair of boots since the very first moment I saw them. New season also means new shoes, right?  :)

Unknown moments

Recalling summer I don't want to think about those major events that happened. I traveled, worked (a little bit), visited my hometown and experienced summer days in Scotland. What matters, however, are not those giant changes, but moments. Incredible moments we usually forget. Moments with family and friends, fun and crazy ones. This is what matters.
Moment * Early morning coffee with my mama before the flight.
Moment * Food afternoons with Conor when we order an ice cream for each other and are sure it's the perfect choice.
Moment * Crazy flatmate is back and we cook noodles.
Moment * When Scotland becomes your home and your life, but still looks funny.

Moment * When taking the wrong train becomes a wee habit.

Moment * When some conversations are more honest and open as usually.
Moment * When one crazy Scottish bastard and Eastern European girl take hipster pictures in the hipster place.
Moment * When we talk. When we talk and it's the best thing in the world.

This is what matters.
